Turn YouTube lessons into notes worth revisiting.
Keep the explanation, not a wall of captions. Bring a YouTube video to Pausly, choose a note format, and build study notes from its available transcript.
From your material to your next study session.
- 1
Paste your lesson
Use a YouTube video with an accessible transcript. Your link stays with you while you set up your account.
- 2
Choose your note format
After onboarding and sign-in, your video opens with the AI note settings ready. Review the format and language before creating anything.
- 3
Review alongside the video
Create your notes, then check important definitions and examples against the original lesson. Add the details your course expects.
A transcript is the starting point, not the finished notes.
Captions follow the speaker word for word, including repetition and digressions. Study notes should make the structure easier to revisit: the main idea, the reasoning, and an example that explains it. Use a single lecture or focused tutorial to keep the result connected to one learning goal.
For a biology lesson, look for the stages of a process and what changes between them. For a coding tutorial, keep the purpose of each step and test the code yourself. A concise explanation is useful, but it cannot replace working through the exercise.
What the video says matters more than what is on screen.
Pausly uses the available transcript for this workflow. A diagram, silent demonstration or equation shown only on screen may be missing from the notes. Add those details while watching instead of assuming the AI has read every frame.
Auto-generated captions can mishear names, technical vocabulary and numbers. Check these against the video and your course material. Private, unavailable or transcript-free videos may not work; choosing a different video is more useful than repeatedly retrying the same link.
Questions before you start?
Does this work without a transcript?
This workflow needs an accessible transcript. It does not promise to transcribe every YouTube video or read everything shown on screen.
Will I need to paste my link again after sign-up?
No. The selected link is kept in this browser through onboarding and sign-in. Stay in the same browser and do not clear its site data during the process.
Is this a transcript downloader?
No. This page starts a study workflow that creates AI notes from the available transcript. Notes reorganise and shorten material; they are not a word-for-word copy of the recording.
Can I edit the notes?
Yes. Review and edit the generated note in your Pausly workspace. Keep useful examples, correct mistakes and add your own questions as you study.
Do I need an account, and is generation unlimited?
You need a Pausly account. Generation uses your available credits and is subject to usage limits. Review the settings and your balance before creating notes; this page does not start generation automatically.
Can I trust every generated detail?
No. AI can omit context or make mistakes. Check names, numbers, definitions and conclusions against your original material. Use the notes as a starting point for studying, not as an answer key.
