Terms of Service
Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Who we are
Pausly ("we", "us") is operated by Faruq LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. It turns videos, documents, audio, and slides into study materials: summaries, quizzes, flashcards, mind maps, podcasts, and AI tutor conversations. You can reach us at hello@pausly.ai.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Pausly, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Pausly.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Pausly. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. YouTube
Pausly uses YouTube API Services to work with YouTube videos. By using Pausly, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Videos, thumbnails, and captions belong to their creators and to YouTube. Pausly does not claim any ownership of them and does not let you download videos. Study materials are generated from publicly available video data for your personal learning.
4. Your account
- Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
- You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
- Let us know right away if you believe your account was compromised.
5. Acceptable use
When using Pausly you agree not to:
- break any law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright;
- abuse, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service, or bypass its limits and access controls;
- resell or redistribute the service or generated outputs as a competing product;
- use the service to create content that is harmful, deceptive, or illegal.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or put the service or other users at risk.
6. Your content and AI outputs
Files you upload, notes you write, and answers you give stay yours. You confirm that you have the right to use uploaded material and give us the permission needed to store and process it so the service can work.
Summaries, quizzes, flashcards, mind maps, podcasts, and tutor responses are generated by AI. AI makes mistakes: outputs may be incomplete or wrong, and they are not professional, medical, legal, or exam advice. Always verify important material against the original source before relying on it. You may use outputs generated for you for your personal learning.
7. Plans, billing, and refunds
- Pausly has a free tier and paid subscriptions. Feature limits and quotas may change as the product evolves.
- Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record. Your purchase is also subject to Polar's terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds: within 14 days of your first purchase of a subscription, email hello@pausly.ai and we will refund you in full. Renewals and later periods are refundable where required by law.
8. Our service and IP
The Pausly software, design, and brand are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not give you any right to use our name or branding.
We work hard to keep Pausly available, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Features may change, and we may modify or discontinue parts of the service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or academic outcomes, arising from your use of Pausly. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumer protection law gives you in your country of residence.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. If a change is material, we will give notice inside the product or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Pausly after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You can stop using Pausly and delete your account at any time.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming. If mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you additional rights, those rights are not affected.
